I think
this record will become one of my favorites, as it
is the most
spontaneous project I have ever done. There is
no
pre-advance work. I was in a studio
working on a
record
project with a friend, when we finished recording
an hour
earlier. I took advantage of the extra time and
asked
Boris, the engineer, if I could play some solo pieces
and record
live on 2 track. Which he agreed to. So I
started
playing freely some improvised songs.
Also I was
playing on a 7-string guitar that belongs to
Martine
Montassier (she also made the 8-string guitar
which I
usually play with) I was actually just trying her
classical
guitar.
Those
improvisations were not cut or edited and they
presented
here as they were played.
More than
improvisations, I wanted these pieces to be
spontaneous
compositions that reflect the precise
moment
where they were played.
I hope you
will enjoy this album as much as I had the
pleasure of
making it.
